Michael Bovaird at AudioShark says "The Lampizator Big 7 will create an intimate listening experience like no other."

Michael Brady

The Lampizator Big 7 is very rich in tone. It has meat on the bones. It has purity to its delivery. It is not soft, but rather sweet. It has this uncanny ability to add another dimension to your music. This dimension that sounds like hall ambience, a slight decay/reverb which makes the music seem all that more real. Bass through the Lampizator was a real surprise for me. Bass was big and full, detailed, and controlled and most importantly, very natural. Stand up bass had this natural “thump thump thump”. It was the most natural bass I’ve heard from any digital source.

Ayllon Media "loved the sound and the price" of the Amber DAC so much they bought the review sample

Michael Brady

"The Amber wielded a versatile, but heavier footprint.  Fast and detailed enough, it was pretty upfront in its presentation, yet very adept at rendering timbres naturally.  In essence, it was very balanced, resented superb imaging and was very true to life.   For me, the Lampizator Amber Plus DAC was overall more impactful and a tad more engaging"

StereoMojo is "thrown…for a loop" by how great the LampizatOr DAC sounds

Michael Brady

"'I never knew digital could sound this good!'

'I never knew music could sound this good!'

'Wow..I've got to rethink my LP collection. This has thrown me for a loop!'

Those are the comments I heard from guys at the DAC Shootout as well as everyone who has visited my home since I got the Lampizator in my system.

'We both beleive that it performs far better than its cost. We believe you may waste your time listening to any other DAC out there in the land where capacitors and resistors dwell. If you enjoy wasting your time, go listen to others, we are betting you’ll return to hear the Lampizator with your own gear, in your own listening environment.'"

PartTimeAudiophile.com gushes, "a LampizatOr is what your average turntable wants to be when it grows up"

Michael Brady

"LampizatOr is a brand that I’ve written about over the years, and it’s great to see designer Lukasz Fikus continuing to refine and extend his reach into audio’s uppermost reaches. With tubes, an innovative circuit and quality parts, Lukasz has created what, to my ears at least, may well be the one of most liquid and limpid DACs on the market. Analog, shmanalog — a LampizatOr is what your average turntable wants to be when it grows up, rummages around in your closet and emerges wearing a bright blue mask and the tights of Justice. 'I’m sure millions of readers out there are just wondering what it’s like to wear the tights of justice. Well, it’s tingly and it’s uncomfortable, but it gets the job done and, oh, the job of it.'"

DigitalAudioReview.net says "Lampizator delivers pulchritudinous sounds at NYAS ’14"

Michael Brady

"Headphones aside, I don’t often make more than a passing comment about the sound of individual components at shows. It’s simply impossible to know how much each component – including the room itself – contributes to the end result. Anyone who says otherwise is either a fool or a communist. What I do know is that this Lampizator fronted room was one of the most effortless and graceful sounding spaces I’ve heard in a very long time.

Yes, ’twas pulchritudinous."

Positive Feedback calls the 5th Generation DSD DAC a "Game Changer"

Michael Brady

"Lampizator's 5th Generation DSD DAC is one of the few audio components I have heard that makes an immediate impression. You know that you are hearing a very special product, one that will improve the sound coming from your system. It's a component that has you questioning the balance of your system components, and wondering if even better sound is possible by some additional upgrades. It provides musical enjoyment that outperforms competing products at several times the price.

The Lampizator DSD DAC is a product you will want to audition if you are in the market for very high quality music listening at $3800—and even significantly above that price. Once you hear it, I'm betting it will be on your short list of products to consider for the next audio component you buy.

Yes, it's that good."

Steven Rowan of the ComputerAudiophile.com Community is "Living with Lampis"

Michael Brady

"In my 40 years plus of audiophile life, it's not often that I have discovered, listened to, purchased, and lived with a family of electronics, that have transformed my listening room as I thought only a multi thousand plus turntable, tone arm, and Koetsu cartridge could do. In my experience only a top rated analog system had the power, realism, and magic to enthrall one into believing they are at a live event instead of sitting in their listening room. Of course the digital siren had tried to dethrone my analog rig but couldn't quite succeed. Such contenders as Yamaha, Oppo, Theta, PS Audio and even the legendary Mark Levinson Reference Digital products were quite moving and enjoyable and had tried to supplant my record spinner but couldn't quite close the gap. Until now. And this is how it went down."

Enjoy the Music.com touts the Generation 5 Level 4 "a major upgrade"

Michael Brady

"The Generation 5gives great value for the degree of listening pleasure it delivers. I expect that when I have mastered DSD computer audio it will prove to be even more of a bargain. I may also check out whether a newer and better disc transport will get even better results from my CD library. As I'm sure you’ve already figured out, this wonderful DAC, as Dylan would sing, 'ain't goin' nowhere.'"

Positive Feedback chats with Lukasz Fikus

Michael Brady

I'm glad I had a chance to hear the Lampizator Big 7 DAC and chat with its designer Lukasz Fikus at The Show in Newport Beach. I appreciated his enthusiasm and candor, and came away wanting to hear some of the newer models in their product line. If you're considering buying a 2-Channel DAC for your audio system, I agree with Positive Feedback's Mark Pearson—you will want to give these products an audition. They deserve to be heard.

HiFi Pig "Highly Recommends" the Level 7 in its review

Michael Brady

The Lampizator Level 7 is a truly remarkable listen! It has the ability to reproduce naturally formed notes and vocals with an organic and breathtaking sensation of purity, embodying the true essence of a performance. It renders these aspects effortlessly giving a correct balance and tonal appreciation that is very difficult to question and can only be described as ‘lifelike’.

Positive Feedback calls the Level 4 a "Smooth Operator" in their review

Michael Brady

Every DSD recording that I played through the Lampi was a great experience. Whether it was jazz, classical, rock, or opera, they all sounded really, really good. I do have to admit that for the here and now, my favorite genre of music is jazz. One of the many things I love about jazz music is that it has such expressionist drumming with very wide dynamic shadings. From the soft sound of brushes caressing a snare drum and cymbals to a wide-open solo that is literally bringing the house down, the Lampi brings it all alive. You can hear the sticks hitting the drum heads, the rims, the decay and resonance of each of the drums, and how and where the drummer is hitting the cymbals.

If you are in the market for a great sounding DAC that is capable of playing back both hi-rez PCM and DSD files and which just happens to use tubes, you owe it to yourself to give the Lampi an audition. There has been a 'buzz' building around the Lampi DACs on audiophile forums for awhile and now I know why firsthand. It's time for me to pack the Lampi up and send it back, but I can assure you that I will miss it greatly. Highly recommended. —Mark Pearson

Gingko Audio – DanaCable – Wells Audio – Lampizator

Ever since I read John Zurek's review of the Gingko Audio ClaraVu 7 speakers ($8995) in PF issue 67 I've been looking forward to hearing them. At this show, they were in a system that paired them up with the new Signature edition of the Wells Audio Innamorata amplifier ($13,000) and a combination of Lampizator digital gear, the Big 7 DAC ($11,500) and Transport music streamer ($2650). Everything was hooked up with a collection of DanaCables. The sound in this room had that wonderful and rare combination that could music lovers swoon and audiophiles stop obsessing. When the music started nothing else mattered.

Confessions of a Part-Time Audiophile covers Lampizator at AXPONA 2014

Michael Brady

I’ve been a fan of LampizatOr for several years now, and all I can say is that the brand is getting better with each iteration. Given that high starting place, you might think that I’m saying that they’re some of the best DACs you can buy, and if you thought I thought that, well, you’d be right.

This room was packed all weekend. You’d think these brands have some kind of cult following or something. Ahem. Anyway, on the one occasion that I was able to elbow my way in for photos and a front-row seat, I was very taken with the rich textures and full sound.

Definitely a highlight of the show.
